Empire Mine State Historic
Park is one of the oldest, largest,
deepest, longest and richest gold mines in California. The Park consists of 805
acres including forested backcountry and eight miles of trails for hiking,
mountain biking and horseback riding.

Tahoe National Forest is over 800,000
acres that can be enjoyed year-round for hiking, fishing, skiing, horseback
riding, hunting, boating, and swimming. This area includes stretches of 3
rivers, the Yuba, American and Truckee.

Auburn State Recreation Area is a major
recreational area includes hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, mountain
biking, gold panning and off-highway riding. Whitewater recreation is also
popular on both forks of the river. |
